Our first Road trip of the New Year (that’s nearly 2 months of road tripping!) was to Cambridgeshire to meet the Helter Skelter team, which is part of Link to Change. Helter Skelter has been running for 4 years and is a project focused on working with young people at risk of or being sexually exploited aged between 12-25. They offer support through 1-2-1 times, group work and other activities, as well as looking for opportunities to provide awareness raising events in the county. The project has some good links with residential care homes, where it offers drop-in opportunities for young people. The project has recently received funding to employ another member of staff to widen the service across the county, which is good news! Cheryl and I especially enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the young people who helped create a 3 course meal for our visit! Impressive! A big thanks to Helen and team for your hospitality!
